Ditch the Screen...

It’s a sad fact that kids today are not engaging with Nature as much as they used to.
In fact a survey carried out by the National Trust in 2016, suggested that kids today are spending about half as much time playing outdoors as their parents did when they were young. The same research also discovered that 9 out of 10 parents surveyed would prefer their children to be spending their childhood connecting with nature.
At the same time words that describe nature such as acorn, conker and catkin have been removed from the children's dictionary while words such as iPad, Cut and paste, and Broadband have replaced them.

We believe…

it is important for children of all ages to have the opportunity to connect with the outdoors and be able to experience nature no matter where they live. We provide an environment in which your child can feel confident and explore safely and know they can return to it and enjoy it throughout their time as a child in London.

Reed Robins is committed to creating opportunities for children to enjoy the outdoors and feel a sense of freedom and adventure. It is dedicated to developing a respect for the natural environment and to building an understanding and knowledge of nature within the city landscape.
In addition we aim to enable your child’s ability to make their own decisions and help build their self confidence.

Reed Robins hopes to inspire a sense of community and an interest in the local history of the Brockley area, through connecting with the Great North Wood legacy in play and learning.

Finally Reed Robins is committed to developing strong friendships amongst children through their cooperation, support and trust through woodland play.
